BB4 Washlight

The BB 4 washlight is a powerful led fixture with a new generation of combined RGB high power leds with homogenised output. Designed for a life on tour and packed full of control versatility and rigging/ de-rigging simplicity. This fixture can be used outdoors as well as indoor in fixed installations or travelling around the world.

Filtering processes waste energy by their very nature; additive colour mixing as used with the BB washlight series, works on drawing only the power required. So in blackout the device only consumes a total of nine watts, on full power this equates to 120 watts maximum power draw.

The Light Engines4 custom lamina combined RGB leds use groundbreaking thermal performance. A key factor in determining life and reliability. Unmatched by any other manufacturer, Laminas light engines are used to deliver the light you would expect from a new generation led fixture.

The unique optical path ensures a completely blended source leaves the fixture, ideal as a wash device or direct view. The four light engines are fitted to a substantial passive heatsink with the shortest gap between silicone die to heatsink, making this fixture one of the best thermally managed led fixtures available.

Colour consistency comes from a demanding colour specification with tight wavelength tolerances to ensure the lighting designer has the right primary colours to achieve colours in the billions including a variety of whites.

Features:
  • Energy efficient additive colour mixing and static colour device
  • Customised lamina Titan RGB LED x 7
  • Efficient heat dissipation of both led heat and control section
  • Self contained device .
  • Built in user interface for additional functionality
  • Built in functions for dmx use and stand alone use
  • A variety of different operating modes are provided for differing applications
  • Super fast strobe from constant on to a slow pulse, colour oscillations are possible
  • 4 x 20 beam angle as standard
  • Accessory slot for optical accessories such as asymmetric beam adjuster
  • Easy connect of data with 5pin xlr’s from supplied splitters
  • Easy power input and output for daisy chaining adjacent units 16 amps max from splitters provided
  • Combined data and power cable chassis connections for tidy single cable setups
  • Stand alone function provides memory storage
  • A stand alone chase sequence of using specified memories
  • Outputs dmx to other fixtures within the same dmx range
  • Auto ranging power input 100v to 240 volts, ideal for touring globally

BB1 and PowerBar

Building upon the BB4 and BB7, the new BB1 Building Block System creates exciting and innovative new opportunities going far beyond the semi-rigid constraints of normal fixture specification. The BB 1 series is designed around three basic components,

(1) A weatherproof (submersible) low voltage (15 volt) fixture This comes with a self contained RDM/DMX digital drive. It can be submerged and comes with a single cable fitted with a high quality 5-pin weatherproof connection. The BB1 can be used independently, e.g. as a truss or a set toner. It is fitted with a dual set of yokes for easy floor mounting or for quick, tool free rigging onto a truss or metalwork in the air. The BB1 fixtures can be remotely addressed and configured with industry standard RDM (remote device management) DMX, or run as a slave on standard USITT DMX. i-Pix new Digital Drive technology is over 90% efficient and delivers even smoother control of the light engines, right down to lowest intensities. True 16 bit control expands the colour range from millions to billions.

(2) Power distribution box This remotely address the fixtures via RDM/DMX, or the onboard user interface can be used which provides both operating mode and address control. Combined power and data input ensures a weatherproof connection, so the power distro can be used outdoors in any orientation. A battery and data inlet connects to an optional battery and show DMX wireless DMX module. Rigging mounts are provided for truss or frame mounting,

(3) Multiple rigging frames: These are based upon i-Pix' standard Camloc quick release systems for easy rigging and de-rigging of multiple configurations with power and data onboard. Each fixture's position can be adjusted with sliding frame rigging mounts. Multiple points enable quick adaption from being hung or rigged from a yoke in the conventional sense, or grouped together as a low resolution high power pixel grid. Various rigging frames are available - and i-Pix is initially launching three rigging frame choices for the clustering of BB1 fixtures.

Features:
  • A 4-way linear frame which can be floor or rig mounted, or stood on end. This frame matches existing BB4s in terms of spacing and light performance.
  • A 3-way T-frame with a shrunk down power distro box for an even more compact form factor.
  • A 2 x 2 frame as above.
Other frame styles are currently in development, and will give even more custom design opportunities using standard components from the i-Pix building block system.

4 and 6 Lamp Power Bars for BB1

This is ideal for all types of portable applications from film & TV shoots and location work to small stages live concerts and performances, site-specific theatre, exhibitions and conferences, etc.

The Power Bar provides low voltage to the BB1 and is equipped with an onboard user interface. This allows each fixture to be individually addressed and the 'operating' mode to be adjusted. Both power and data are fed neatly through a combined data/LV power cable.

The user interface will receive and transmit either 8 or 16 bit DMX to the fixtures, and will run in stand-alone mode - whereby up to 20 memories can be stored, and a chase created from these.

The Power Bar is fitted with Camlock mounts for connecting to the Omega bracket on the BB1 unit, to facilitate quick and easy truss or boom rigging. As well as these suspension points, there is a centrally located spigot position for rigging onto stands of all types.

Combined power and data in and outs are useful for feeding multiple Power Bars from a single power/data feed.

A tough (optional) rain cover is available for outdoor use, and the Power Bar is also fitted with a connection for the attachment of a remote battery and wireless DMX facility.

Battery Bags

The new new waterproof Battery Bag uses standard 12 volt batteries and provides complete stand-alone flexibility where power or lack of rigging time are issues. The Battery Bag can be used to power either a single BB4 fixture or the Power Bars individually.

Each bag comes with the option of wireless control, courtesy of City Theatrical, which also provides a local DMX outlet for other technology that might be adjacent to the Power Bars. Runtime is a 35 hour life for an RGB chase, 16 hours life for a CYM chase (with two colours on at once) and 9 hours for full intensity - measured using a BB4.
Satellite

i-pix Satellite is a 42 Watt RGB self-contained LED wash fixture with power and data daisy-chaining ability, and the potential of running up to 60 fixtures off a single 16 Amp feed.

  • Ultra smooth dimmer response
  • punchy light output
  • virtually zero heat emission
  • Easy-to-read LCD for easy address and set up
  • Flicker free operation for all types of use

Users can also utilise the onboard software to create their own internal chase sequences when used in stand alone mode. The Satellite has two camloc fittings allow i-pix's top hat scaffold and tv spigot mount to be easily added, making the fixture work in the air and on the floor quickly.

i-pix satellite is a very versatile, ‘hirable’, engineer friendly led fixture.

A small range of accessories from flightcases to beam shaping clip on frames provide the user with a range of possible uses.
A strong, tourable mechanical design provides for a durable ‘workhorse’ colour changing fixture exceptionally easy to setup and run as part of a rig or on its own.

The first production batch Satellites went straight out on tour with Radiohead (LD Andi Watson) and Beautiful South (LD Dave Byars) ..... Indicating a real confidence in the product. Since then they have been deployed worldwide on many productions.
